Emerging from the deep symbolic well of the Muladhara, or Root Chakra, this painting-embroidery embodies strength, protection, and the primal connection to land. Painted color fields are crossed with threads like pathways, merging the language of stitch with contemporary form. It calls to the ancient stories held in these mountains—tales of endurance, belonging, and the unseen energies that bind people to place. As an Australian immigrant shaped by the Asia Pacific and living in Appalachia for over two decades, I see the Root Chakra as a meeting ground where myth, memory, and culture converge.
