This piece is inspired by sacred places in Appalachia. Pout houses, wood shops, quilt rooms, canning shelves, the forest at dusk, and the meadow at dawn as the fog rolls in. We create our own special spaces to craft, create, and celebrate solitude. We seek them out in nature, to be still and lay down our burdens. They can always be found for those who look.
